Job Overview
Legal and Compliance is responsible for managing all legal and regulatory matters, including contracts, corporate governance, SEC compliance, general compliance, academic compliance, employment law matters, intellectual property, product counseling, government relations, and claims. The team includes dedicated teams that support every aspect of Coursera's platform, including university, enterprise and industry partnerships. You will play a key role in managing the company's public company / SEC reporting obligations and corporate governance processes, as well as advising on M&A and strategic initiatives. In addition, you will assist with company-wide information governance and document retention projects.
Responsibilities
Reporting into the General Counsel, the Associate General Counsel, Corporate and Assistant Secretary will be part of the Legal Department's leadership team and lead the global Corporate Legal team within the Legal Department, managing a team of 3 legal professionals, while counseling on issues of strategic importance to Coursera and contributing to the company's strategy planning process, including legal strategy and risks associated with the company's operations as a public company, SEC reporting, public company corporate governance, international expansion, M&A and strategic alliances, and other corporate transactions.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base pay for this role is between $139,000 and $303,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and location.
