What we do:


The Battery Cell Test Engineering team is responsible for designing and implementing battery testing programs for battery cells used in eVTOL applications. The Battery Cell Test Engineer works closely with algorithm engineer to develop highly precise control models in our BMS; as well as, supports our battery certification engineers and battery R&D lab members to develop concrete testing and evaluation battery cert programs.


What you can do:


  • Develop and implement validation and qualification programs for various battery cell technologies including modeling/simulation approaches to reducing execution time of these programs

  • Develop test plans, procedures, and specifications for battery cells and associated components

  • Conduct tests on battery cells to evaluate their performance and reliability

  • Analyze test data and investigate root-cause degradation mechanisms and failure modes.

  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to ensure battery cells meet performance, safety, and reliability requirements

  • Up to 10% of domestic and international travels

  • Other duties as assigned


What you can contribute:


  • Bachelors degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, materials science, electrical engineering, or a related field

  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in battery cell testing, performance and safety & abuse, preferably within the aerospace or automotive industries (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)

  • Experience with battery cycler and potentiostat systems

  • Familiarity with lithium-ion and/or next generation battery chemistries, testing methodologies, and safety standards

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Proactive communication and follow-up

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Must have the ability to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraints

  • Ability to work both independently and collaborate


You may also be able to contribute:


  • Experience with battery module test or pack test planning and/or execution beneficial

  • Ability to use Python for battery cell data analysis is a plus

Base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for a bonus as part of total compensation.
The pay range for this position is:
$133,120—$186,160 USD
