Multilevel Applications and Positive Support Services (MAPSS) is a locally-owned behavioral therapy agency that serves children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and their families. MAPSS is currently hiring Behavior Program Instructors (BPIs) to implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. The BPIs at MAPSS will provide services to our clients in Kern County including Bakersfield and surrounding areas. We are looking for individuals who are responsible, trainable, and motivated. Specific duties of the BPIs at MAPSS include (but are not limited to):
- Providing one-on-one support to children with autism spectrum disorders and other related disabilities. Implementing applied behavior analysis (ABA) programs in the client’s home, community, and school settings.
- Developing and implementing a range of behavioral and educational methods. Adapting these methods to a variety of clients and settings.
- Creating program materials to be used during therapy sessions.
- Collecting and maintaining data; data-entry.
- Participating in supervision meetings.
- Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with client’s families and other stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Reliable form of transportation and proof of current insurance.
- Ability to pass a DOJ clearance.
- Ability to pass a TB test.
- Ability to work Monday-Friday between 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm (morning and weekend availability may be required depending upon assignment). Other available working hours between 8am - 1pm, Monday to Friday.
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Child Development, or related area of study; graduation with a Bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred.
- Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders or other developmental disabilities preferred.
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) highly desirable.
The salary range is from $17.00 to $21.00 depending on the negotiated pay rate; variances are contingent upon education and professional experience such as RBT certification and/or years of ABA experience especially working with patients/students with Autism.
