Summary:

The copywriter will be responsible for writing and editing content for a variety of projects (including web, print, mobile, video, and social media), while working closely with the creative and design teams to brainstorm ideas, develop concepts, and articulate messaging.

Job Duties:

• Write high-quality, error-free, original, and engaging copy for our websites, emails, newsletters, blogs, print ads, etc.
• Write engaging biographies for healthcare providers, including doctors, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and leadership roles
• Create newsworthy press releases for upcoming GMG community events, with exceptional style and formatting, to engage attendance from media outlets at Gonzaba events
• Be adept at varying the voice, style, and other characteristics of messaging based on the target audience
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of communications and industry trends

• Draft messages or scripts for senior executives to present in written or spoken form

• Stay current on the appropriate style guidelines and brand voice for consistent messaging
• Interpret creative briefs to develop concepts for execution with assigned branding
• Present copy concepts and final deliverables to internal team
• Revise content based on internal feedback
• Collaborate with designers, public relations, and other professionals on large and small-scale projects
• Work with the design team in the visuals/creative selection process for every copy to drive user experience
• Create strong keyword content for Gonzaba’s website, using SEO principles and best practices to maximize Gonzaba’s search/SEO relevancy online
• Source images and other content
• Research and fact-check thoroughly to ensure accuracy and effectiveness

Education and Experience:

• Two or more years of professional copywriting experience, with portfolio of work
• Exceptional writing and research skills
• Ability to work independently or with a team to meet deadlines
• Excellent organizational skills and multitasking ability
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in journalism, English, communications, or related discipline
• Proofreading experience and familiarity with standard AP style guidelines

Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills are required.

Writing skills: Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills are a necessity, as well as the journalistic ability to source stories from employees.

Computer Skills: Must be able to demonstrate advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio, SharePoint, Teams, etc.) and other data/statistical analysis tools.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment: Office setting in a clinical environment. Exposure to communicable diseases is common as this is a public position in a healthcare facility. Exposure to bodily fluids, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions is low.

Physical Demands: Requires manual dexterity, sitting, standing, stooping, reaching, kneeling, crouching, bending, walking, lifting to 40 lbs. Close vision and ability to adjust focus.
