Job Description


At Hawkeye, Copywriters are essential members of the Creative team from initial conception through final execution and delivery. You will partner with Art Directors under the guidance of a Creative Director and in consultation with Strategy, Account, and Project Management team members, to develop and refine exciting and effective work and present it with confidence. In addition to well-known brands like FedEx, Google, and Delta Airlines, you’ll have the opportunity to work on multiple client accounts at Hawkeye and across the larger Publicis Groupe network. Responsibilities

  • Develop a detailed understanding of brand, business, industry, and marketing needs and distill into compelling copy that helps clients reach their goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with Art Directors and other team members to develop fresh creative solutions aligned to project briefs, strategy, and brand guidelines; help prepare work for presentation.
  • Partner with Strategy, Account, Project Management, and Production team members to flawlessly execute through rounds of internal, client, brand, and legal review and release, helping to ensure the accuracy and integrity of final deliverables.
  • Adhere to agency and account guidelines, processes, and expectations, and provide guidance to onboarding team members.
  • Be curious, ask questions, and always keep learning about industry trends and innovations, creative tools and best practices, and leadership and presentation skills through agency-facilitated training opportunities and self-guided education.

Qualifications
  • Expert knowledge of grammar and style (Chicago and AP) for professional writing, editing, and proofreading, as normally acquired through completion of a bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field.
  • 2+ years copywriting experience and proven ability to craft clear, compelling, creative copy that successfully delivers on a broad range of client and agency needs.
  • Finesse for adapting tone for multiple brands, audiences, and channels (email, website, paid media—display, social, audio/radio, video, sales support materials, print, direct mail)
  • Analytic thinking and problem-solving skills to identify meaningful content and context, evaluate ideas, and consistently deliver unexpected, original work; Comfortable with the concept of a messaging hierarchy and interested in content and communication strategy.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal and communications skills necessary to effectively collaborate with dispersed, remote team members and manage workflow across disciplines in a busy, fast-paced environment.
  • Emerging presentation and leadership skills necessary to provide impactful recommendations to existing work and processes, and mentor less experienced staff.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Zoom; Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Salesforce, Figma, Proof HQ/Workfront helpful but not required
