Job Summary

The Data Engineer will join a dynamic team within the IT Department designing, building, and optimizing solutions for data collection, storage, and access at scale.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, and maintain on-premises and cloud-based data pipelines to acquire, profile, cleanse, consolidate, integrate, persist, and expose structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
  • Understand and influence long term data strategies and advocate for additional data sets and elements to improve delivered data products and quality.
  • Collaborate with analysts to understand datasets and strategic business objectives.
  • Support exploratory data analysis, statistical analysis, predictive analytics, and machine learning models.
  • Remain current on data architecture, analytics, and data science developments while researching new technologies and opportunities to improve data acquisition and enablement.
  • Ensure systems meet industry best practices considering security, privacy, classification, performance, and retention requirements.

Requirements:
  • Asset management industry experience is desired.
  • Proven expertise designing, building, and optimizing solutions at scale using Microsoft SQL Server technologies.
  • Proven expertise creating data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
  • Ability to understand, discuss and document complex data models and flows.
  • Working knowledge of basic administrative tasks (e.g., backup and recovery, index maintenance, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of Power BI and SQL Server Reporting Services is desired.
  • Working knowledge of IHS Markit EDM is desired.
  • Must be accountable and detail oriented with excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work non-business hours as needed.
