The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing and carrying out Human Resources-related responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruitment process, employment and retention, employee relations, benefits, compensation, performance management, training, and compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for benefits administration to include enrollments, terminations, and changes.
• Performs recruiting activities for the organization including open position tracking, job posting, negotiating agreements with recruiters.
• Provides recruiting and consulting services to support the business needs.
• Utilizes proactive recruiting techniques and develop industry contacts to hire qualified and talented individuals who mirror company’s culture and brand.
• Prepares offer letters; performs reference checks, and pre-employment screening.
• Manages new hire on-boarding process and performs New Hire Orientation sessions.
• Proactively manages legal risk by ensuring compliance with HR company policies & procedures and governmental regulations.
• Manages termination process: conducting exit interviews and administering termination paperwork and notification.
• Handles employee relations issues.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
• Minimum 3 Years experience in the HR Field.
• Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality.
• High Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office programs.
• Excellent organization and follow-up skills.
• Ability to work independently and be self-directed.
• Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously with high attention to detail.

COMPANY HISTORY

WKS Restaurant Corporation began operating its 1stEl Pollo Loco restaurant in 1988 in the City of Long Beach, California. WKS is currently the largest franchisee of El Pollo Loco restaurant chain, operating 50 plus units located in California, Arizona, and Denver. WKS currently employs 1,300 people in its El Pollo Loco operations.

WKS Restaurant Corporation is also a franchisee of Denny’s restaurants and currently operates three restaurants in the Southern California area, employing over 200 people.

In January of 2009, WKS signed a development agreement with Corner Bakery Café, Inc. of Dallas, Texas to open 15 restaurants within the next seven years throughout the greater Phoenix, Arizona area.

In September 2007, WKS was honored by the International Franchise Association as a Franchisee of the Year.
