Job Description

We are looking for a Dog Trainer to join Our Pack at The Action Pack in Georgetown, Texas!

These high energy places are looking for high energy people to join our team! You will be working hands on with dogs during their daytime camp. This job involves safety of animals in our care, cleanliness of the facility, and having fun while paying attention to detail. This person will be responsible for all training within the facility.

Core Responsibilities:

• Create a training plan for the dog
• Teach commands to the dog and pet parent.
• Be patient with a stubborn dog
• Teach pet parents about dog behavior
• Understand a pet parent’s needs
• Work with the pet parent to teach them about their dog
• Teach pet parents how to reinforce good behavior
• Listen to pet parent concerns
• Performs add-on services as needed.
• Follows procedures for the safe handling of all pets.

REQUIREMENTS:

• One year of professional dog training experience required.
• Training certification preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Must be a pet fanatic – pets are part of our family!
• Knowledge of dog commands
• Knowledge of different dog breeds
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients.
• Ability to create a plan of action for pet parents.
• Ability to work well with dogs
• Ability to identify problems

Salary Description: $17/hour + commission

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

• Professional Dog Training: 1 year (Preferred)
