Graduate Geotechnical Engineer

Kelly Engineering is currently seeking a Graduate G eotechnical Engineer for a direct hire role at one of our Global clients onsite .

The Graduate Engineer’s primary responsibility will be to perform geotechnical and facilities engineering investigations and studies in a timely and accurate manner within the specified budget under the direction and guidance of senior staff members. This will include coordinating and participating in different activities, including field drilling, data collection in the field, classification of geotechnical samples and assignment of tests in the laboratory, interpretation of engineering data, performing engineering calculations and the preparation of written engineering reports. Additionally, responsibilities include managing assigned projects, support of invoice and collection activities, and participating in assigned marketing responsibilities. The Graduate Engineer must also possess good communicating and interpersonal skills in dealing with fellow client employees, customers, and the general public. Secondary responsibilities will involve supporting the Construction Materials Testing Section, where required.

Minimum Requirements
  • Acquire Engineer-in-Training certification in the State of Texas within one year of date of employment, and possess a minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited school.
  • Good oral communication skills to interact with clients and staff successfully. Speaking with clarity and understanding skills are a necessity to prevent costly and time consuming problems.
  • Good written communication skills for preparing proposals, reports, and other engineering documents.
  • Good organizational skills to utilize firm resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Possess valid Texas driver’s license and meet firm’s auto insurability requirements.
  • Ability to lift and carry (45+ lbs) of tools and equipment.
  • Walking, standing, crawling, kneeling, climbing, and repeated bending as needed while working on sites.
  • Distinguish colors and shades of color for identification and analysis.
