US-OR-Portland

Job ID: 23-31800
Type: Regular Full-Time
System Office 1919 Building

Overview

The Health Equity Data Analyst is a key driver in the ongoing development and implementation of Legacy’s systemwide diversity, equity and inclusion strategy to diversify our workforce and reduce health disparities that exist between patient populations. We are seeking a senior data analyst for this position who will be responsible for wrangling and analyzing employee and patient data, and then presenting relevant, timely and actionable data using engaging visualizations, e.g., self-serve dashboards, prevalence maps of racial/sexual/physical violence in a work environment, and scorecards for business leaders, clinicians, and external facing audiences. A leader and strategic thinker, this person will leverage complex data sets to make the case to leaders on what actions to take and investments to make towards achieving the organizations strategic safety, social inclusion and customer growth goals. They will join a diverse community of data analysts and lead cross-functional project teams, serve as subject matter expertise in select aspects of workforce diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and health disparity data, and participate in special projects as needed.

This is a remote position open to incumbents who reside in Oregon or Washington only. There may be occasional situations that require work to be performed on-site at an assigned Legacy Health location. All new hires are required to come to a designated Legacy Health office location in Portland, Oregon prior to their start date for a new hire health assessment and to complete new hire paperwork.

The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is within the People & Culture division at Legacy. People & Culture is about prioritizing our people so that we can prioritize our patients. We are transforming a traditional human resources function into a team of professionals who develop creative solutions to attract, develop and retain diverse, high performing talent. Within the People & Culture team, we are building a spirit of curiosity, experimenting with innovative approaches and challenging past practices to ensure we aren’t just responding to today’s workforce challenges, but can predict them. This is a pivotal moment in the healthcare industry, and Legacy’s People & Culture team sees this as an opportunity to reimagine what it means to work in one of the world’s most complex yet rewarding industries. For us it’s about building a legacy where our people can do their best and be their best.

As the largest nonprofit health system serving the Portland-Southwest Washington and mid-Willamette Valley areas, Legacy Health provides a range of services - we have six hospitals, one of which includes a center solely dedicated to children’s care, Randall Children’s Hospital at Legacy Emanuel. We run more than 70 primary care, specialty and urgent care clinics, employ nearly 3,000 doctors and providers and more than 13,000 employees. We also operate labs and a research center. Our major partnerships include those with PacificSource Health Plans and the Unity Center for Behavioral Health, a one-of-a-kind center for people facing a mental health crisis that is collaboratively operated between four regional health systems and numerous community partners.
