This position is located in New Deal, Texas


Freedom Behavioral Intense Outpatient Program (IOP) located in New Deal, Texas is an outpatient program specifically for Geriatric non-acute psychiatric mentoring and therapy services. We are looking for an experienced LMSW or LPC; strong preference given to previous geriatric psych experience. Teamwork, team development and team training are all key qualities for this position.


The Therapist is responsible for assisting the Clinical Director with the social services necessary to meet the legal, organizational, medical staff and regulatory agency guidelines. Provide therapy services, case management, education and discharge planning for the outpatient program, and, provides assistance to other social workers, therapists and interns. All duties to be done in accordance with Joint Commission, Federal and State regulations, Allegiance and Freedom policies and procedures and Performance Improvement Standards.

Essential Functions :
Provides clinical support of other social workers, therapists and interns.
Provides clinical support of individual, group and family session for patients as indicated in the supervisor notes.
Participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team and participates in chart reviews for quality assurance.
Meets weekly or as required by state regulations with clinical staff to meet licensure or certification requirements as evidenced in supervisor notes.
Support the clinical department including the following functions: discharge and after care planning, completion of discharge summaries, completion of clinical documentation and providing guidance to the clinical staff.
Review psycho-social documentation, completion of outcome studies assessments and development of clinical notes.
Establishes and maintains a supportive/directive leadership style to foster a positive organizational culture making self available to staff
Provides Clinical Social Work services; including group, individual and family services including communication in an age/disability/cultural sensitive milieu.
Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Educational/Experience Requirements:
Must be a (1) LMSW or LPC, Licensed in the State of Texas

  • Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited school of social work and prefer at least three years of full time experience in psych

Qualifications/Skills:
Excellent assertive communication skills.
A sound leader who possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster cooperation across departmental lines and manage information, environmental and fiscal resources to accomplish goals.
Good writing and composition skills. Able to organize and prioritize high volume workload.
Able to function with minimal supervision.
Therapeutic Intervention/De-escalation education required.
Ability to maintain overall good work attitude and interact cooperatively and professionally with other staff members.
Basic competency in age/disability/cultural diversity needs of patients served and ability to relate to patients in a manner sensitive to those needs.
Must be able to work under close supervision.
Must successfully complete CPR certification as well attend our approved behavioral de-escalation program.

This position will consist of chart documentation, treatment planning, performing psycho-social assessments, and patient groups.


Must be vaccinated against Covid-19 prior to employment.
