About us:
Teaching Drum Outdoor School is a non-profit organization in Three Lakes, WI. We are dedicated to bringing back the craft, foraging, and cultural practices of our ancestors to help us return to a balanced way of life. Most staff live together in an intentional community. Together, we facilitate wilderness immersion experiences for participants from all over the world. We have three branches: the Teaching Drum, the Healing Nature Center, and Snow Wolf Publishing.
We are seeking a Managing Editor to join Teaching Drum’s sister organization, Snow Wolf Publishing. Established in 2014 as an independent nonprofit publisher, Snow Wolf Publishing has published eleven books, most of which have won multiple awards. As the Managing Editor, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire operation of our publishing house.

Preferred qualifications:
A degree in a related field and experience as an editor is preferred, but if this position speaks to you and you want to live what you hold in your heart while making a difference in the world, we would joyously sit down with you and see if we can dream a future together into being.
Compensation and Life at Teaching Drum:
We live a simple lifestyle—heating with wood, eating an organic and partially wild-foraged diet, and living in community with others who enjoy the same. Staff receive room and board, shared vehicle use, utilities, internet, and a $550 stipend/month. Food that is included with room and board is based on a paleo-diet and includes fruit, vegetables, nuts, wild meat, eggs, fat, and wild rice.
If self-motivated to learn wilderness survival skills, including the skills taught our Wilderness Guide Program (such as fire making, tanning hides, tracking, wild foraging, trapping, woodworking, shelter building, open-fire cooking, way finding, etc.) there is a wealth of knowledge to draw upon.
