Job Description
  • This position will support design, development & maintenance of Chassis equipment systems & function areas (Fuel system, DEF system, Battery box mounting, Cab access/Back of cab access, Fairing mounting, Fifth wheels, Transport adaptation)
  • Candidate MUST have CREO experience in designing parts (sheet metal, castings, piping preferred),
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Familiar with finite element analysis (FEA – Structural, Fatigue analysis) and Computational fluid dynamics (CFD)
  • Product Data management (PDM) experience with OEM preferred
  • Familiar with Agile way of working, good knowledge of product development life cycle
  • Perform design activities from concept to production phase, support verification & validation activities, and any corrective actions during design maturity stages
  • Support cross functional design reviews & meetings in an efficient way.
  • Perform quality tools, risk management, and propose the way forward.
  • Product development experience at VOLVO, other heavy duty truck OEM is a plus
  • Take full engineering responsibility, independently deliver the tasks in Chassis Equipment areas.
  • Integrate deliveries from other cross functional stakeholders and secure quality and delivery readiness.
  • Will have the opportunity to work in projects ranging from advanced engineering to start cost level of projects.
  • Position reports to Engineering Group manager for Chassis Equipment & Transport Adaptation in Greensboro, NC.

Qualifications
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (or equivalent).
  • Must have authorization to work in the US.
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
