Gaithersburg, MD, health insurance consulting company is seeking an individual for our Full Time-Medical Billing, Eligibility & Coding Department Position.

Requirements:
Two or more years of collegeMedical terminology experience.
Experience using Encoder Pro Expert.

AHIMA or AAPC Certification encouraged. Able to code claims and know when a claim is unbundled, upcoded, incorrectly coded, etc. Familiarity with CPT, HCPCS, and ICD10 coding. Able to communicate clearly both verbal and non verbal. Organized, perform multi tasks and pay close attention to detail. Enjoys working with the medical personnel and other professionals via phone, email and fax. Is willing to accept a challenges.
Knowledge of medical insurance terms, billing and coding required.

This in-office position includes, but is not limited to the following responsibilities:
- Answering and transferring incoming calls to the appropriate employees.
- Computer data entry and calling medical providers.
- Claim verification and medical billing coder.
- Greeting and handling walk-in clients, vendors and delivery agents.
- Faxing documents.
- Scanning and filing of documents.
- Candidate must be reliable, punctual and demonstrate attention to detail and is able to work independently, as well as work well with others.
- Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Data Entry experience is ideal and typing must be 40wpm or better.
- Two years of college a plus.
Work under the direction of the Billing Department Supervisor and clerical/administrative duties as assigned.
