Who are we?

We are a small/ intimate private Foot and Ankle Surgery (Podiatry) office in affluent west lincoln park with a consistent 5-star Google rating. The office is very progressive and we all aim to give the best possible care we can to our patients. With a solo practitioner, we typically see 20-30 patients a day. While we have a lot of online traffic, and patients do like to self-schedule via the website, we also have a lot of phone traffic for appointments/ general inquiries. As the majority of the job will be talking with patients, individuals with excellent communication skills are valued. Multitasking and punctiality is as a must! We are a team, however the individual parts of our team must function well independently in ther respective roles.

Job duties include:

• answering phone calls (3 lines in total with the help of the medical assistant)
• accepting credit card, check and cash payments
• putting patients on payment plans and discussing balances owed before time of service
• scanning IDs and insurance cards as well as documents into the EMR
• verification of insurance cards, ID's, addresses and
• scheduling appointments and surgical prodecures (in office and with the hospitals)
• communicating via email with an off-site biller to help resolve patient billing inruries (billing/ coding savvy is not needed but helpful)
• overall navigation of the EMR (***Athena*** and Phreesia)
• checking/ sorting emails as needed to the doctor and medical assistant
• must have the ability to explain basic insurance to patients (deductibes, copays and coinsurance) after said information is produced for you via the EMR/ EOB's
• understanding/ writing basic medical terminology

What we offer:

Although we are small we offer a full benefits package including 401k matching and group health insurance (after training period). Paid time off for ALL major holidays , no weekend hours (one late day per week- 6p end time), Half days every friday, and 3 day weekends once a month- this is at NO penatly to you (paid for 40hrs a week regardelss of actual hours worked). We also offer paid sick time and numerous paid vacation days depening on the doctors scheduled days out .

Things to note:

Due to the significant amount of time-off built into the schedule, and medicince care a 24 hour job, we all try to schedule personal affairs during that time off or well in advance.
