Job Description

The Assistant Parts Picker and Parts Driver will act as a backup for the parts picker and dispatcher to fulfill wholesale orders and will drive company vehicles to deliver parts in the local area to our customers. This position helps to positively lead the team of drivers to be most successful and getting the correct parts to our customers in a timely manner. Most importantly and without exception, our drivers must operate within the legal speed limits and in a safe fashion at all times. In addition, this position will help with stocking the department and maintaining good departmental housekeeping. He/she will be handling cash from customers and will log receipts.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of automotive parts knowledge, and a clean driving record. Candidates must be able to drive a variety of vehicles in varied weather and road conditions and must have good computer and smartphone skills. Strong communication and customer service skills required.

Responsibilities

• Positively motivates/leads the team of drivers to get the correct parts delivered timely
• Ensures safe and on-time delivery of parts to the dealership using company vehicles and following all company procedures and standards
• Pulls parts for wholesale orders
• Conducts vehicle safety inspections
• Complies with and enforces all safety policies and procedures
• Maintains cleanliness of vehicles and performs routine maintenance tasks
• Obeys posted speed limits at all times and all other rules of the road
• Completes any reports or logs
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Excellent communicator and strong organizational skills
• One year of automotive parts experience
• A clean driving record for last three years
• Must be able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds as needed
• Excellent communication, customer service, and problem solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
• Highly professional and dependable
• Safety and customer service oriented
• Strong computer skills
