Job Description

We are looking for someone who is interested in summer work, who is easy going but also a self starter. There are regular customers who have been visiting for decades, and there are customers who are visiting Laguna Beach for the first time. When there are rushes of customers, it gets hectic and busy, and other times it's a slower pace. It's an independent business, so there is always a lot to do. We are looking for an associate with integrity and energy, someone who is friendly and kind, and ready to dig into helping with the operations of a small, vibrant, family business. We are 1/2 a block from the beach in Laguna Beach. Having fun on the sales floor is really important. We don't like "selling." We like helping our customers find what they need. We need someone who is really comfortable working with people in person and by phone, and who believes work can be fun and fulfilling.

Responsibilities:

• Working the sales floor, sometimes opening and sometimes closing, and ringing up sales
• Providing well-informed, confident, and useful feedback to customers about size, fit, and styles (so getting to know the merchandise pretty well)
• Achieving sales goals for the days and weeks
• Making customers super happy
• Communicating with customers, especially when they are waiting for an order
• Working with the team to maintain the sales floor, display windows and tables, and stockroom to keep the store customer ready
• Some paperwork (daily paperwork and merchandise paperwork)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour

• Laguna Beach, CA 92651: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
