Job Summary:

The Systems Engineer III is responsible for the architecting, maintenance, and support of the Bank's technology infrastructure, with a focus on high security, performance and high availability of the networks and systems used at the Bank. This position is highly qualified in the areas of network, server, storage, and personal computer support and works with other Technology personnel to identify and resolve system issues and incidents. This position works with end-users as needed to address problem reports and questions and exhibits superior customer service skills.

Primary Functions and/or Responsibilities:

· Responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of enterprise compute, storage, active directory, backup and netapp systems critical to the Bank
· Researches and recommends highly complex solutions critical to improving systems availability, performance, and stability
· Ensures compute, storage and enterprise tools are installed and configured according to Bank's defined standards, practices, and regulatory requirements for financial institutions
· Prioritizes efforts, maintains project plans, and meets response service level agreements
· Leads the evaluation of technologies and vendors used to ensure they meet industry standards for quality and performance
· Monitors and supports bank systems and alerts management of any performance issues, responsible for adding/removing new/old appliances/systems in the Centralized Monitoring system
· Creates and maintains configuration diagrams in Visio, and installs scripts and documentation for all major and minor projects and day-to-day support activities
· Analyzes problems using experience and superior troubleshooting skills to determine the best resolution to reported issues. Handles escalated issues at Level 3 with utmost master skills for this area
· Provides superior customer service to all employees at multiple locations
· Participates and may lead multiple projects simultaneously and control project deliverables and expectations
· Mentors Junior engineers at Level 1 and Level 2 for daily support and project backgrounds & arranges regular knowledge sharing sessions with the team to cascade important troubleshooting scenarios
· Meets with vendors, customers and/or consultants to assist in potential integration of new products/systems/devices
· Performs other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience:

· Four-year college degree in a related field preferred OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
· 8 – 10 years experience
· Four-year degree in Computer Science or equivalent required
· At least eight years of experience working with highly available enterprise systems which include various aspects of Compute, Storage, and Backup components.
· Prior experience with banking or financial institutions helpful

Specific Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

· Windows server installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting, both virtual and physical implementations
· Advanced background with VMWare design, installation, configuration & advanced administration both ESX and VDI
· Demonstrated knowledge of EMC storage technologies
· Microsoft technologies and servers including AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, Exchange and the System Center management suite
· Cisco networking and Cisco Unified Communications Platform, including network routers, switches, firewalls, VoIP, MPLS, and SIP
· Cisco UCS platform knowledge
· SAN solutions expertise NetApp preferable
· Knowledge of banking or financial Institution regulatory requirements helpful
