Technical Writer

Job Summary:

FNA Group is a world class manufacturer of pressure washers and other outdoor power equipment. We are currently seeking a professional Technical Writer to create informative, educational, training, and other technical materials as part of our expanding Technical Services team. This key role will work cross-functionally with our Technical Service, Engineering, Product, Research & Development, and Marketing teams to create technical content that explains complex and comparative information in a clear and concise manner.

Essential Duties:

• Research and document technical materials for educating and training in-house personnel as well as external customers and end consumers.
• Create user-friendly owner's manuals and customer instructions to help consumers understand the set-up, use and care of our products.
• Create technical service manuals and other communications to help service technicians diagnose and repair our products.
• Manage updates and revisions to technical materials including owner's manuals, technical manuals, written scripts for videos and other forms of media.
• Create the content for product manuals, quick setup guides and technical service documents in collaboration with legal compliance, engineering, quality and service teams.

Qualifications:

• Associates degree in Creative Writing, Technical Writing, Communications or related field; or minimum of two years of equivalent work-related experience of proven technical writing in creative styles for multiple audiences.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and experience is needed, with an understanding of factory assembly line procedures preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail is critical.
• Microsoft Office 365 is expected; including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with different departments.
• Proficient knowledge in small engine and/or outdoor power equipment is a significant plus.
• Additional proficiency with InDesign CC, Photoshop CC, or Illustrator CC a significant plus.
• Graphic design and photography experience is a plus.
