We are looking for a Business Development Manager who can shape the future of the Jane.com marketplace: finding and recruiting sellers who will delight our customers. We are looking for people with drive, ideas, and a passion for helping small businesses succeed and drive the seller acquisition process—does this sound like you? If so, we’d love to talk.

Responsibilities

    • Prospects and closes business to achieve weekly, monthly, and quarterly quota targets for both the quantity and quality of sellers recruited.
    • Develops long-term seller acquisition strategies with focus on developing short-term sales and growth opportunities.
    • Creates an acquisition pipeline of potential sellers. Qualifies and targets sellers to transition them through the acquisition process through contract closing.
    • Understands and utilizes the right tools to track all pertinent account information and sales progress as well as forecasts and prioritizes to achieve quota goals.
    • Creates acquisition marketing presentations and persuades sellers to launch on Jane.com marketplace.
    • Collaborates with internal merchant groups, analyzes product line performance, and searches for sellers and/or manufacturers in markets that align against company’s product strategies.
    • Continuously seeks new business opportunities by attending trade shows and researching industry market trends.
    • Initiates contact with potential sellers for the purpose of developing lasting sales relationships and evaluates product categories that complement the company’s product assortment and brand strategies.
    • Negotiates new sales agreements and encourages business relationships with sellers and customers.
    • Participates in cross-functional collaboration to drive change, remove roadblocks and close business.

Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years experience in sales or business development related role, and major focus on outbound and prospect sales experience.
    • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous and fast paced environment.
    • Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills and be able to professionally communicate complex business concepts.
    • Must be able to pay attention to detail and thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and work effectively and collaboratively across various departments to meet goals and deadlines to ensure successful acquisitions.
    • Must have highly developed and creative problem-solving skills.
    • Experience with Microsoft, Confluence, and HubSpot.
    • eCommerce experience a plus.
    • Willingness to travel as needed.
