Location/Division Specific Information: Newton, MA Within our Analytical Services team, we have a functional service provider solution, which is a unique partnership that allows our customers to demonstrate the experience of our staff, while allowing you, the employee, to gain direct experience working onsite at a pharmaceutical/ biopharmaceutical company, all while maintaining full-time benefits. Our client is seeking a full-time associate scientist to propel the discovery and development efforts of cell therapies to address unmet needs in the field of orthopedic sports medicine and reconstructive surgery. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, passionate about innovation, and able to drive early-stage projects from the discovery phase to the development phase. Given the nature of the duties and responsibilities, this is an on-site role with some work from home flexibility. A day in the Life: - Performs standard aseptic mammalian cell culture technique. - Leads maintenance of in vitro cell culture studies. - Performs functional assays of cells (molecular biology techniques to assess cell viability, proliferation, differentiation, and function). - Contributes ideas and delivers decision-making data for a pipeline of therapeutics. - Completes other duties as needed to create and capture value for the client’s biotechnologies. Education - Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification Experience - Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 0-2+ years) either in an academic or industry laboratory setting - Excellent comprehensive skills and attention to detail - Ability to work in a collaborative environment while independently executing and closing out studies. In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities - Ability to understand and independently apply chemistry and biology principles related to novel cell therapies. - Ability to execute well-conducted, well-documented, and well-reported laboratory experiments. - Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite. - Ability to independently optimize analytical methods. - Good written and oral communication skills. - Time management and project management skills. - Problem solving and troubleshooting abilities. - Ability to work in a collaborative work environment with a team.
