Manager - Biomedical Engineering - NYP / Westchester
The Manager plans, manages, and oversees daily activities of Biomedical Engineering Department at assigned center to ensure effective use, maintenance, and repair of Hospital medical equipment in accordance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and establish procedure. Develops, formalizes, and implements procedures and methods for testing and calibrating medical equipment. Monitors and oversees department activities to ensure effective maintenance and emergency repair of medical devices. Directs and oversees departmental personnel to ensure effective staffing, work allocation and coordination; complete performance evaluations and take appropriate personnel actions. Provides work direction. Interprets and implements hospital personnel and departmental policies and procedures. Designs and implements appropriate quality control and preventive maintenance programs and conducts follow up to ensure effectiveness of department activities. Investigates equipment-related accidents and safety hazards to determine cause and corrective or preventive measures. Implements and maintains safety standards to ensure maximum protection for patients and employees. Responsible for the development and growth of the Department, Network Shared Services program which includes marketing, business development, proposal generation, sales closures, and program implementation. Manages medical equipment installation programs. Coordinates medical equipment installation with facilities department to ensure patient care areas meet equipment needs and regulatory requirements. Performs all duties inherent to managerial role. Participates in hiring, training, evaluation and termination of assigned staff according to hospital policies and procedures.
This is a full time position located at NewYork Presbyterian / Westchester in Bronxville, NY.
