Job Description

You will report to Swing (2) shift. This shift schedule is Monday-Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Due to business need, on select occasion employees may be required support operations on an alternate shift.


About the role:


The Production Engineer I – IG is responsible for on-shift operational support of the IG department in Covington, GA. The Production Engineer I focuses on rapidly resolving manufacturing problems, enabling manufacturing to meet production goals. As a member of the operations team, the Production Engineer I provides on-shift technical knowledge and leadership.


How you will contribute:


Troubleshoot and provide resolutions to technical issues to support ramp-up and steady-state operations of two-automated pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities. Scope of support will include:


  • IG Packaging Process
  • Process equipment (Marchesini Vial Labeler, Manual Conveyor, Tamper Evident, and Casepacker)
  • Distributed Control System (DeltaV) and Process Logic Controllers
  • Manufacturing Execution System (Siemens Simatic IT)
  • Automation hardware
  • Safety and quality investigations


Continuously improve manufacturing operations by:


  • Reduce manufacturing events, user interventions, and batch record alerts
  • Identify and develop opportunities to reduce cycle time, error proof operations, and eliminate waste
  • Performing operational assessments to ensure processes, procedures, tools, and training are in place


What you bring to Takeda:


Education


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering discipline required. Some related experience preferred.
  • Related work experience within a technical or GMP environment is preferred.


Skills, Abilities, Competencies


  • Initial training in concepts of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma quality techniques is preferred
  • Ability to work second shift (approximately 3:00pm – 11:30), holidays, and occasional weekends in support of a 24x7 manufacturing operation
  • Ability to work in a clean room environment
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (such as hard hats, safety shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs) due to safety requirements in specific areas
  • Ability to travel on an infrequent basis (< 5 %)

Important Considerations


At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. In this role, you may:


  • Work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.
  • Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.
  • Work in a cold, wet environment.
  • Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.
  • Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.

Base Salary Range: $ 54,600 to $ 78,000. Employees may also be eligible for Short Term and Long-Term Incentive benefits. Employees are eligible to participate in Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Charitable Contribution Match, Holidays, Personal Days & Vacation, Tuition Reimbursement Program and Paid Volunteer Time Off.


The final salary offered for this position may take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
