As a Research Scientist you will be working in a highly collaborative environment applying your strong experience in analytical methods applied to nucleic acid research to contribute to the success of RNA vaccine platforms.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Be a key member of a team of dedicated professionals to characterize vaccine candidates and support RNA platform technology development.
  • Be responsible for design of analytical methods and execution of analytical activities used for clinical and commercial development of RNA vaccine candidates.
  • Apply deep knowledge in nucleic acid research and its analytics to improve and support process development of RNA vaccine platforms.
  • Research literature databases and evaluate novel analytical technologies to address program needs.
  • Independently carry out and document experiments, interpret data, and maintain good scientific process on multiple projects activities.
  • Prepare oral and written reports to communicate scientific findings and to support project documentation and CMC submissions.
Qualifications - External

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree and previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 8+ years) or Master’s degree and previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 6+ years)

Degree in Molecular Biology/Genetics, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, or a related scientific field preferred

In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


Experience in research and development, preferably including vaccines research in an industrial, academic or government laboratory setting

Hands-on and in-depth understanding of nucleic acid research and analytical characterization methods of RNA/DNA molecules (Electrophoresis based, LC based. PCR based etc).

Thorough understanding in nucleic acid sequencing

Strong written and oral communication skills and a track record of achievement in publications, technical documents, regulatory filings, and/or patent applications on nucleic acid research, preferentially on RNA.

Work independently or with minimal supervision.

Be a team player in a cross-functional collaborative environment: effectively partner with diverse team members from various functions, multiple countries and members at various levels in organization

Be able to rapidly acquire project understanding and apply professional knowledge to project improvement.

Must be detail oriented; possess problem solving skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.

Preferred: Hands-on experience with analytical methods applied to RNA purification and CQAs characterization (HPLC/UPLC, ddPCR, qPCR, DLS, Capillary electrophoresis, hybridization techniques etc.).

Preferred: Hands-on experience with large RNA molecules (10Kb+).

Preferred: Hands-on experience with nucleic acid sequencing and familiarity with scripting language (Python/R).

Able to perform successfully under pressure while prioritizing and handling multiple projects or activities.
