The Systems Engineer is responsible for design, operations, and support of the enterprise IT infrastructure. This position will be responsible for the organization’s datacenter, server, and cloud infrastructure. The Systems Engineer also acts as 2nd or 3rd tier support for troubleshooting and resolution of infrastructure issues within the IT department.
Target Responsibilities:
- Design, build, support, maintain and improve all aspects of IT infrastructure between network and application layers including storage, virtualization, servers, Active Directory, Cloud tenants, messaging, monitoring, and patching.
- Oversee resolution of all infrastructure related issues and ensure action plans and status are communicated appropriately to other IT teams and business.
- Monitor and report performance of infrastructure against KPIs and take preemptive measures to minimize disruptions and outages.
- Identify opportunities and recommend solutions and automation to improve overall infrastructure health, efficiency, and cost.
- Coordinate interaction of Systems Engineering team with other IT functions and business units to accomplish projects and resolve issues.
- Train and mentor other members of the Infrastructure and Service Desk teams to diagnose and resolve basic IT infrastructure issues.
- Manage third-party consultants and vendors in support of projects and operations.

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, a related field, or five to ten years’ relevant experience.
- Three or more years of related IT infrastructure experience along with working knowledge of networking, security, and application topics.
- Technical proficiency with hypervisor technologies (Microsoft, VMware, etc.), enterprise storage providers (EMC, NetApp, Pure, Nimble, etc.), Microsoft platforms (Server OS, Active Directory, System Center, Exchange, etc.), thin-client platforms (Citrix, Microsoft), public cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, Google GCP).
- Experience with build-out and management of data centers (cloud and on-premises).
- Ability to conduct research into issues and products as required.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Comfortable under high-stress and exhibits poise and focus.
- Effective prioritization and project management skills.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor individuals, build and lead teams.
- Self-motivated and directed.
